Cousins Properties' Colin Connolly is movin' on up—to COO of the recently supersized Atlanta REIT. Cousins announced that Colin has been promoted to COO from EVP and CIO, after just seven months. It's quite a trajectory for a former Morgan Stanley executive director and young gun who joined Cousins in 2011 as SVP with a focus on buying and selling properties.
Colin's promotion comes just weeks after Cousins announced a $2B buy of Parkway Properties, picking up 3M SF of Buckhead office towers, including 3344 Peachtree, Tower Place 200, Capital City Plaza, and One and Two Buckhead Plaza. In a statement filed with the SEC, Cousins CEO Larry Gellerstedt called Colin "instrumental" in the firm's strategic growth plans.
