When we agreed to meet GSI Office Environments? Leo Wells for breakfast this week at the Flying Biscuit Terminus, we didn't know he had a penchant for turning tables upside down to check the manufacturer. Wells refrained from re-scrambling our eggs, but did offer an assessment of the office market, based on furniture liquidation. Business is pretty good, he says, because calls are coming in from downsizing companies looking to shed office furniture they no longer need. On the positive side, Wells, whose dad is known across the country as the founder of Wells Real Estate Funds, says his firm recently outfitted 3630 Peachtree with some cool furniture for its lobby. Now if he only could find the owners some tenants. |
