BECK LOOKS TO FUTURE
November 15, 2010
The man who has headed up The Beck Group's Atlanta office and helped the firm secure a major development project with the CDC will now chart the firm's future. |
Dallas-based Beck looked ahead 15 years ago and decided to become a full-service provider, after buying a neighboring architectural firm. Now, Beck is about to undertake a little futurism, under the leadership of Brad Phillips, who has been named managing director of strategic pursuits. Brad previously ran the eastern division for Beck and will continue to work from Atlanta. He tells us the firm will definitely pursue more life sciences work, an industry that will continue to grow. Beck recently won the contract to develop a 200K SF CDC facility on its Chamblee campus. Brad is tasked with answering the question of what else will Beck be doing in 2022 He says it's too early to tell, but at least one current reality is something that will be addressed: How will the credit crunch and subsequent Great Recession affect the industry? Brad says the firm will research whether the credit markets will stay tight as a new normal, and if so, decide which projects to finance. |
