BEHIND THE BELTLINE: PART TWO
June 1, 2010
Today we present the second installment in a two-part Atlanta BeltLine special series (here's Part One). We're looking at updates on the 22-mile loop around Atlanta's urban core, focusing on three main components: transit, paths, and parks. In this issue, we delve deeper into development opportunities. |
This weekend, we snapped Ansley Mall (the BeltLine path runs behind the center). Atlanta BeltLine planners have identified about 20 nodes for development and redevelopment. (Ansley is an example of a redevelopment opportunity.) Our tour guide, Heather Hussey-Coker, who's been working with the BeltLine since ?05, tells us to envision buildings with two faces, one opening to roads/parking areas, and the other to the BeltLine. |
