BIG DEALS ARE MADE OF WOOD
September 12, 2012
No more excuses for not building your kid's treehouse: The Gwinnett Regional Distribution Center is welcoming the relocation of US Lumber for 215k SF. (We're joking—there are lots of reasons not to build your kid's treehouse; now isn't the time to be building on spec.)
We chatted with Seefried Properties' Doug Smith, who is celebrating some 300k in new leases at the massive distribution facility on North Berkeley Lake Road in Duluth. Doug says it's part of an uptick in activity in the areas that seem to be affecting the northeast industrial market. Connelly Realty's Ed O?Connor repped the tenant.
This deal was on top of a recent 80k SF lease with RMR Atlanta, which entered the Atlanta market this year. Metropolitan Realty's Mike Rapp brokered that deal. Seefried has 275k SF left in the 1.1M SF warehouse, owned by High Street Investors. ?I would categorize the activity [in the area] as more organic growth,? Doug says (right, at a Bisnow event). ?Both of these deals were either new to the market or expansion.?
