BIG GYM TO THE PRADO?
November 18, 2010
One moment on the lips may be a lifetime on the hips. But in Sandy Springs, this Life Time will try to save those hips sooner. |
Minnesota-based Life Time Fitness, which owns a chain of fitness gyms that fit into big-box spaces, is in talks for its fifth Atlanta location at The Prado redevelopment, the project on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs owned by The Sembler Co. Life Time's Karen Jayne Leinberger tells us the plan is to take a pad site originally slated for Home Depot, which canceled plans for the store as the housing crisis mounted. But the fitness center still needs to pass the muster of Target, which operates a store at The Prado— which we tried to do justice with this pic here—and has first right of refusal on uses of the Home Depot land, Karen Jayne says. The fitness center will develop a three-story, 144K SF facility. Jeff Fuqua with Sembler declined to comment on the story, and Target officials did not respond to media requests by press time. |
