CARTER ROLL TIDES INTO BIRMINGHAM
October 13, 2010
Honestly, it's the only Alabama pun we could think of. Hopefully Carter can give us more. The firm just acquired the note on City Federal, a 27-story mixed-use project in Birmingham that includes 84 condos and nearly 15K SF of retail space. Terms of the deal were undisclosed. The historic building, formerly known as Jefferson County Savings and Loan Building, was reverted to Carter's control in lieu of foreclosure, according to company officials. The purchase includes 28 unsold condo units. "We see the continued revitalization of downtown Birmingham, from the recent opening of Railroad Park to the Pizitz redevelopment, as a significant driver of demand for downtown living,? says Carter SVP John Akin. |
