CARTER TO BREAK GROUND ON MOB II
November 8, 2012
Carter will move forward next year on a second MOB at its Piedmont West project. And it's pursuing Piedmont Hospital again to fill up the space, we learned this morning during the firm's invitation-only breakfast at the Atlanta History Center.
Carter's Scott Taylor says the firm will begin construction in 2013 on a $45M, 150k SF MOB with delivery by 2014 (above). Scott told us after his presentation the building has not been preleased yet "but we're working on it." Piedmont Hospital already occupies the 264k SF building completed in 2009, he says.
While Carter highlighted various projects, perhaps the other newsy item from its breakfast this morning came from Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed (here in a Q&A with Scott). Despite much speculation that Obama's second term win would mean the popular mayor may get an administration post, Kasim instead vowed to remain head of the City of Atlanta until 2017. "I like my job more than any job that's available to me," he said, adding he can get more done as mayor than in Washington, DC. "I'm not running for Congress. I'm not running for the United States Senate against Saxby Chambliss." We'll have more news Monday from Carter's breakfast. |
