CRESA ENTERS INDUSTRIAL GAME
December 8, 2011
Welcome back to A-Town, Akiva Freeman. And you're doing what now?!
Akiva, the former Duke Realty broker who joined CRESA Partners a few years ago, returned to Atlanta recently with Cresa's office here, and is now part of a new team focused on industrial tenant rep. Akiva, whom we snapped at Buckhead's Shane Rib Shack (not pictured, the big pork plates), is teaming up with Cresa's Ed Rigginsand Jim Bob Taylor to handle industrial work metrowide. It's part of an effort by Cresa nationally, which will push forward with industrial tenant rep work across the company in 2012.
His current assignment is to sublease this former Clorox space (at least you know it's clean) at 6855 Shannon Pkwy—a 500k SFindustral sublease in a 700k SF building in Union City. He's seeing activity, mainly from companies both here already and outside the market looking to consolidate logistical networks into the major transportation hubs around the country (and yes, Atlanta's a big player in that market). Akiva says he feels Atlanta's industrial market will continue to make steady improvement in 2012. ?I don't really think there's going to be any surprises,? he says. ?The reality is the lack of speculative construction has helped on the demand side.?
