DUNCAN DEPARTS
July 17, 2012
One of Atlanta's biggest office tenant reps has left the building. JLL's building, that is.
Duncan Gibbs (here with wife Kristen) resigned late last month from JLL. Duncan, one of the crew who came aboard following JLL's purchase of The Staubach Co, told us he plans on taking time off this summer to spend with family. ?Hard to believe, but I have never taken a two-week vacation since becoming a tenant rep,? he says. (That should be a crime with a mandatory 14-day sentence in maximum-security luxury.) He describes the split as ?amicable.? JLL's Mike Sivewright, in a statement, says that "Duncan has been a valued team member while at JLL. We appreciate his many contributions." While Duncan says he's evaluating his options, he declined to say who, if any other firm, he's in talks with. Sources tell us Duncan has had conversations with Cresa, Colliers International, and Cassidy Turley. We'll keep you posted.
Duncan's resignation wasn't the only move in recent weeks at JLL. The firm also snagged Josh Hirsh, Studley's heavy hitter in Atlanta, who was named EVP in the brokerage group. Josh began his CRE career in 2000 as a financial analyst before joining brokerage in 2001. He's helped ink more than 3M SF in leases for corporate clients, including Aderant, which signed a 20k SF deal at The Pointe in Central Perimeter last month.
