EN-JOY-ING CHINA
October 4, 2010
We snapped this of Dan Joy pointing out one of his firm's latest design projects. It's been nearly six years since renowned architects Dan, Rob Rule, Joe Trammell, and Ann Rubio joined forces and started Rule Joy Trammell + Rubio (and they still won't say how they came up with the name). Since then, the firm has had its hand in a good number of high-profile projects—locally and abroad—including the design of 12th and Midtown. The firm just got two more plum assignments: The design of a 205K SF build-to-suit for Kansas City law firm Polsinelli Shughart (being developed by Highwoods Properties) and a 66-acre hotel resort in Chengdu, China. The resort will feature 240 full-service rooms, a 15K SF spa, and a feature not typical in America: 20 Mahjong rooms. ?There were some cultural things we had to learn about, which was difficult and fun,? Dan says. |
