FEEDING HOPE
May 31, 2011
Last Thursday, we joined Colliers International's Hugh Pafford and his wife Crystal at a hotdog cookout held at 66 Perimeter Center East in Dunwoody. Hugh used it to raise interest in his non-profit Feed the Homeless Project. Hugh tells us he and a bunch of CRE volunteers go to downtown Atlanta and cook up hotdogs, oatmeal, and other dishes for the homeless. The organization began five years ago and now has some 200 volunteers. ?I got tired of writing a check to the United Way. This is direct,? Hugh told us recently. ?We make no judgement. They're hungry and we feed them.? Hugh says he's trying to raise up to $12k this year for the organization and is already halfway to the goal. |
