We got Cushman & Wakefield's Ken Ashley to send us a recent pic of he and his son, Johnathan, at a Kansas City Royals game. Ken is among a handful of local CRE pros whose social media acumen(especially his blog) was highlighted by The Duke Long Agency's founder Duke Long, an Indianapolis CRE pro who has also become something of an online guru of CRE social media. |
We chatted with Duke about the adoption of social media and CRE. Overall, it's been slow, but more are discovering that it can boost a personal brand (which is what being a broker is really all about). ?Social media starts that face-to-face with somebody. If you don't get that face-to-face, you don't stand a chance," Duke tells us. But doing comprehensive, readable, and followable social media takes effort, which is why he cobbled together a list of those he feels are the best-of-the-best social media people and orgs across the nation. Among other honorees include the Twitter accounts of Wilbert News Strategies PR guru Tony Wilbert, Corenet Global (based in Atlanta), and Bull Realty CEO Michael Bull, as well as the blog to CREW Atlanta. Duke says that, ultimately, no amount of social media will guarantee a broker will get more business. ?There are people out there right now who will never have a profile online ? and will make millions, God bless them,? he says. ?Of the biggest and best deals I've ever done, one was on a golf course and one was on a country club.? |
