The rich are getting poorer. At the urging of famous kazillionaires Warren Buffett and Bill and Melinda Gates, a lot of other super-wealthy people are pledging to give away at least half their money. Two Georgians are now on the list—Ted Turner and Bernie Marcus. Also Ken Langone, a lesser-known Home Depot founder who now calls New York home, made the pledge. In a letter on the website, givingpledge.org, Turner says, ?I consider my contributions of more than $1.3 billion to various causes over the years to be one of my proudest accomplishments and the best investment I?ve ever made. Those dollars have improved lives, saved species, fought disease, educated children, inspired change, challenged ideas and opened minds.? We assume "saved species" is a reference to the endangered Wolf Blitzer.
