GM DECIDES?
October 25, 2012
General Motors is targeting a former UPS software development facility for its potential Atlanta Innovation Center. (One thing brown do for you: bring in a bunch of jobs.)
Sources tells us GM is in talks with UPS for Big Brown?s former Innoplex building, a nearly 230k SF facility at 2010 Warsaw Rd in Roswell that UPS shuttered in 2009. It was unclear as of press time whether GM was negotiating to lease or purchase. Regardless, it adds momentum to Atlanta as the site for GM?s third software development "innovation center," a story we broke here last week. The innovation center could house more than 1,000 high-paid techies once complete. (So start importing more coffee people, we need to keep their motors running.) Other innovation centers include one in Detroit and another in Austin.
