Leaving the site above, we literally turned around and snapped this pic just south of Peachtree and Pharr. It's part of a tract that's fallen into foreclosure because of the inability to repay a $5.3 million loan. Known as 2955 Peachtree, it had been part of Novare Group's grand plan to develop a major mixed-use project. But the recession killed that, and now the property's scheduled to be auctioned at the Fulton County Courthouse May 4. The site includes retail shops and restaurants, and forgive us if we drop our journalistic objectivity and say (as frequent shoppers and diners) we hope they remain open. |
