GUNSLINGER FOLLIES
October 20, 2010
It's not everyday we get wind of a story like this. We scrambled to Grubb & Ellis yesterday to snap Eva Horton with her black arm cast. The reason: the injury is a result of a gun shot! (Who said commercial real estate was a safe career?) And even more ... ahem ... painful is the injury was self-inflicted. Eva was back home in Oklahoma visiting her family and was helping her mom out of the car, carrying her .22 revolver (listen, there are certain questions we don't even ask). Eva tucked the gun under her arm to open the door. The gun slipped out, fell, crashed onto the ground and BANG! ?It was a hollow point, so while the bullet shattered my arm bone, it went clean through,? she says. Two surgeries later, Eva is expected to fully recover. Her oversized watch, though, will not. The bullet went through the metal band, impaling metal links into her arm. ?Everyone gives me a hard time about that watch, but you know, it probably helped me,? she quips. Regardless, we're happy to see Eva's on the mend. |
