HO! HO! DEALS!
December 10, 2012
CRE kids were making a list and Santa Claus was auditing it twice. Meanwhile, we were chatting up the parents for deals last night during the famous Crescent Resources and Manulife Financials?Phipps Plaza Santa broker event. (Few people know that the rest of the year Santa reps industrial properties.)
CBRE's vice chairman Sam Holmes waited on line to see Santa with his wife Lara and daughter Cammie, 11. Sam and his partner John Shlesinger have had a big 2012: huge deals with IBM, State Farm, Cox, and AirWatch. The duo can now add Silverpop, which extended and expanded its lease at 200 Galleria to 85k SF, and Safeguard Systems, which is moving to Concourse Corporate Center One and expanding by 22k SF into 66k SF there.
It wouldn?t be the holidays without Cushman & Wakefield's John O'Neill getting pummeled by his sons, Lachlan, 6, Owen, 8, and Reilly, 9. We may be just weeks away from the New Year, but John tells us his firm is close on several deals. ?There's a lot of things that could happen this month, and there's a lot of things that can push [into next year],? he says. For Christmas, we asked John to gift wrap a big scoop for us.
Instead of getting licked by his son this year, Jones Lang Lasalle?s Brannan Moss gave his daughter Julia, 2, a candy cane to lick (here with his wife Kate). Brannon tells us he just helped secure a 50k SF renewal with CSG International at Sterling Pointe in Central Perimeter.
New daddy Newmark Grubb Knight Frank's Eric Corona brought his son Smith (still a baby and, if we do say, rather disinterested in talking collateralized debt obligation) and wife Natalie to see Santa for the very first time. Eric says he and his partner NGKF?s Kay Davis both see the mood improving among corporate tenants.
The one thing Cresa?s John Flack is asking Santa for this year: ?A box full of job growth in Atlanta!? We hunkered down with John and his family—Marshall (3.5), his wife Jeanne, and Emma, 5—just after they met with the Big Man in Red himself. Unfortunately, we missed John sitting on Santa's lap to make that request. |
