Journalist of the Year
May 24, 2010
We snapped Fox 5 I-Team reporter Dale Russell on Thursday night after he won the ATL Press Club?s Journalist of the Year Award. Dale told the crowd hard work and relationships helped him break the story of an alleged affair by Glenn Richardson, the Georgia House speaker who resigned after news of the indiscretion aired. Dale says he first covered Richardson when he was Paulding County attorney and faced conflict-of-interest challenges. We applaud Dale?s persistence. |
Some 150 journalists, corp communications, and PR folks filled the Commerce Club for the awards. Here?s social media maven Grayson Daughters and former AJC photographer Rich Addicks just after the fast-paced awards show, which was emceed by local biz journalist Maria Saporta. Both Grayson and Rich left mainstream media for new ventures. Grayson founded WaySouth Media after a career at ABC News and Home Depot, and Rich now runs his own photography company. |
