Chew-y on this. A new casual Mexican restaurant is about to enter the Atlanta market. We spoke with co-owner and local operator of Chuy's John Mountford, who tells us the Tex-Mex chain will open its first location at the former Fire of Brazil restaurant site in Central Perimeter. John (the former director of culinary operations for Houston's restaurant) says Chuy's makes all its food from scratch every day—including the tortillas. John says he's seeking upwards of five locations in Atlanta (including Johns Creek and the Town Center area), and then more in the Carolinas. But it's tricky: Chuy's needs at least 7,000 SF stand-alone with heavy parking. The Trilogy Group's Chuck Evans is helping Chuy's scout locations. |
