LINDBERGH SURGE
July 23, 2012
Development of Regional Impact plans filed with the state are offering a little bit more of a glimpse into Fuqua Development's plans for the Lindbergh Retail Shopping Center. Fuqua plans to add 184k SF in retail, 240K SF of residential, and a public park, with the project slated for a 2014 delivery. On pre-leasing, Jeff Fuqua tells us ?we're working on it" but declined to elaborate, although a number of sources say Walmart is in talks. Other Atlanta projects for the newly formed company include the redevelopment of the former LaFarge concrete plant off I-20, which will become an urban retail project similar to Edgewood, Jeff tells us. | |
Jeff also recently joined forces with Texas-based equity firm Lionstone Group, which is partnering with Fuqua Development on at least two Colorado projects. One is the ambitious $180M redevelopment of the former University of Colorado Hospital campus, razing 2.5M SF of existing buildings in exchange for 300k SF of retail, 325 apartment units, and the transformation of a former nurses dorm into an office building. |
