Last Night's Atlanta Power Women Event
Cassidy Turley's Lisa Dunavin. Equifax's Karen Dick. Beltline's Lisa Gordon. Coca-Cola Co's Lynne O'Brien. There were just some of the big names we honored last night for our Atlanta Power Women event at the City Club of Buckhead.
Award winner and Leapley Construction co-founder Meredyth Leapley tells us that while her firm is heavily involved with the HQ renovation for Norfolk Southern, she also recently secured HQ work for MedAssets (which is moving to North Point Center East) and Hawkins Parnell Thackston & Young law firm.
In a crowd of nearly 500, we caught up with Newmark Grubb Knight Frank's Dave Watson, who tells us he just sold 875 Raco Dr in Gwinnett to King Architectural Metals. The company, moving from Texas, bought the 65k SF facility for its new Atlanta operations, the culmination of a three-year search. There just aren't many buildings for sale, he says.
JPX Works' Bruce Fernald and CBRE's Bert Locke also made it out last night. We got some interesting news from Bruce. His firm, which is underway with its 280 Inman mixed-use project, just found a site in the CBD for its next project but is mum on the exact location.
