MAKIN' IT FRESH
April 6, 2011
The former head of Zoe's Kitchen, John Cassimus, is ready to go fishing in Atlanta's restaurant waters. John, the man who took a single family-owned Zoe's and turned it into a chain (before selling his interest to a private equity fund), will be opening Atlanta's first Maki Fresh at Peachtree Battle. (We drove by and took a pic of one of the famous shopping center.) Based in Birmingham—with only one restaurant there—Maki Fresh is a casual Japanese and sushirestaurant that serves rice balls, sushi rolls, and raw and cooked fish. A source familiar with Maki Fresh's expansion says the restaurant should open by May. |
