MEET OUR SPONSOR: CB RICHARD ELLIS
February 8, 2011
CBRE first VP Lee Asher tells us his group did over $500M in healthcare transactions in 2010, on par with 2007 and they expect the momentum to continue. Lee (right, with colleague Brandon Wallace) co-leads CBRE's Healthcare Capital Markets Group, which includes developer selection, asset monetization, and debt and equity recapitalization strategies, among others. This year, Lee tells us, he expects health systems and physician groups to evaluatetheir real estate holdings, as integration between physicians and hospitals will impact how healthcare is delivered. Also, ?there's a lot of demand for well-located medical office buildings. It's a good time to dispose of non-core real estate.? CBRE manages over 600 facilities for major US health systems, manages leasing for 4,500 physician tenants, and has worked on more than $3B in construction project management.
