NCR Ready For New HQ Campus?
November 6, 2013
NCR will soon be scouting for a new HQ site, one that could possibly take it out of Gwinnett County. (We have extra bubble wrap if you'd like to borrow it.)
We learned last week that Duluth-based NCR—which has amassed quite a presence in Gwinnett since moving its HQ here in 2009—has tapped JLL to handle its commercial real estate leasing nationwide. And sources tell us that work includes evaluating ways to consolidate its HQ into a campus (similar in style to North American Properties' Avalon) somewhere in metro Atlanta. What's more is word on the street is that NCR could have a specific site in mind, and Gov. Nathan Deal could make an announcement about it as soon as next week.
For now, NCR has built its HQ at 3097 Satellite Blvd, a 105k SF office building, ad 2651 Satellite Blvd—its main 300k SF campus just down the street, according to CoStar. The company also uses more than 100k SF at Brookfield Office Park in Alpharetta, and 257k SF in warehouse space at Shawnee Ridge in Suwanee. The questions before executives include whether to consolidate into a single campus setting, pursue a build-to-suit, and even more fundamentally, whether to remain in Duluth and Gwinnett County. (Put dinner in the fridge, those guys and gals will be home late.) We'll keep you posted.
