NO ROOM IN ATLANTA
January 19, 2012
Hersha Hospitality Trusts' CFO Ashish Parikh tells us that his company has no plans to reinvest in any Atlanta hotels at this point. The company—which owns hotel properties with flags such as Courtyard and Hyatt—sold its last holdings in '06 and instead has focused on core markets like LA, NY, and Philly. ?For us, Atlanta is a market where the barriers to entry are relaxed compared to other markets,? Ashis says. Still, Ashish is one of our illustrious hospitality panelists at tomorrow's Hotel Investment Summit at the Buckhead Ritz-Carlton, along with PKF's president Mark Woodworth, Portman Holdings' COO Richard Jones, and Legacy Property Group's founder David Marvin.
