PARTY ON PONCE
October 3, 2011
It may have very well been the surprise CRE party of the year. We were stunned at the number of industry vets we saw at Jamestown and Green Street Properties' Party on Ponce at the former City Hall East building this past Saturday. We ran into Cushman & Wakefield'sWill Porter and his wife Rosemary. Will and C&W's Lisa Dunavinjust got the assignment for One Live Oak, the 200k SF building in Buckhead managed by Daymark Capital. And it's a ripe assignment, given that the SEC is about to vacate 45k SF there. Lisa and Will's track record at Chastain Center (including deals with Watts Water,MiMedics and Tritons' expansion) was part of the reason Daymark awarded them the job.
Here we have Lisa with Georgia Power Economic Development'sBrenda Robbins, who showed up for Party at Ponce. It's a project that she's familiar with given she's leasing the office component of the redevelopment project for Green Street and Jamestown.
Studley's Josh Hirsh and his wife Evin also came out to enjoy the festivities. Josh, of course, has something to celebrate, having recently completed the Ventyx HQ deal at The Terraces in Dunwoody and GXS' 55k SF renewal at Parkway 400.
And here's one of the big reasons everyone came out in force. We got up close to see Athens' pride, Indigo Girls, belt out tune after amazing tune to a crowd of hundreds. Green Street's first party (we hope an annual event) at the renamed Ponce City Market kicks off the redevelopment effort, with proceeds benefiting both the Atlanta Beltline Partnership and Georgia Organics. |
