RAISE THE ROOF (AND BUILDING)
Despite being on vacation, we can't help but brake for an interesting (read weird) real estate development. After snapping this house-on-stilts on the main drag in Tybee, we had to get the back story. Turns out the owner, Gil Navon, moved the beach house to the current location on Butler Avenue from another island address—then lifted it. The plan is to put high-end retail underneath. Navon has other businesses on the island including a beach shop called Waves that sells Boogie board, bikinis, and beach towels. There's been controversy about the stilts deal and even a court case, but the project?s moving forward—or should we say upward? |
