SHOW ME A SIGN
June 15, 2010
We snapped this along Johnson Ferry Road as an example of what you can do in the ?burbs that you can't in downtown Atlanta. City rezoning in 2007 blocked existing buildings from putting up any new freestanding signs. Central Atlanta Progress is working with the City on a draft amendment to the sign ordinance, VP of planning Jennifer Ball tells us. The changes would allow low-profile monument signs. Around a dozen Class A office buildings downtown, including Peachtree Center, SunTrust Plaza, 55 Park Place, and 230 Peachtree St., have been affected by the sign prohibition, Jennifer says. Central Atlanta Progress hopes the draft amendment will be approved by the end of summer. |
