SIEMENS EYES CONSOLIDATION
March 8, 2011
One of Atlanta's largest corporate citizens is getting close toconsolidating some divisions into a North Fulton office building. We drove by and snapped 4800 North Point Pky, the possible new location for Siemens consolidated offices, sources tell us. Siemens spokesman Michael Krampe did confirm that the company is looking to consolidate three divisions into the same facility, including internal IT, a portion of its healthcare group, and Siemens information services. Michael tells us nothing's been signed yet. Cushman & Wakefield's Travis Jackson reps the company.
The Siemens deal would the latest in office tenant movement in Atlanta's affluent North Fulton office market. Most recently, Highwoods Properties snagged North Point Community Church'soperational HQ for this building (One Point Royal) with a 42K SF lease. The church's offices are moving from next door. By the way, Highwoods' John Grimsley, who brokered the deal for the landlord, is an avid golfer with a 15 handicap.
We spoke with NAI Brannen Goddard's Chad Koenig who's leasing 4501 Northpoint Pkwy (another one of our stops on our miniAlpharetta tour yesterday) and says ?we're seeing a pretty gooduptick in activity.? The 130k SF building is home to Intel's McAfee virus protection division and OpenSpan. Chad's got a daunting 86k SF to fill there, though he expressed optimism given he's got ?a few hundred thousand square feet? of prospects he's tracking in the market. |
