Franklin Street wants to grow its retail tenant platform, building a super-regional practice helping tenants from DC to Dallas; it's hired long-time retail vet  Emil Gullia to help achieve that. Emil (here with Franklin Street's Monetha Cobb) has been named director of biz dev for Franklin Street?s tenant services and strategic accounts team, based in the Atlanta office, jumping over from the retail group at JLL. Emil tells us he sees an opportunity to grow, given that retailers are not only looking to add new stores  and concepts coming out of the recession, but also to reorient the stores they already operate. ?A lot of retailers were  taken private or had a retraction because of the recession,? he says, and have now regained confidence. The group reps Dollar Tree and its assorted concepts, Cato, Guitar Center and Beall?s Outlets/Burke's Outlets. It recently helped Cato lease a deal for its Versona Accessories store concept at the Avenues of East Cobb, Monetha says.
