Spanx Moving HQ to Buckhead Atlanta
June 26, 2013
OliverMcMillan is getting a lot more form-fitting in Buckhead.
Sources tell us that the Atlanta-based manufacturer of slimming undergarments is on track to lease 100k SF at Buckhead Atlanta, the long-in-development mixed-use project (seen as a model) in the heart of Buckhead. It's a huge coup for owners OliverMcMillan and CBRE Global Investors, who have been silent about leasing efforts ever since acquiring the project out of distress in 2010. An announcement of the deal is expected to happen this week.
The deal comes after weeks of rumor and speculation. When we met up with OliverMcMillan's Hunter Richardson (here with Maura Schafer) at ICSC's annual RECon convention in Las Vegas, he was mum on talk that an office deal was imminent. The deal means Spanx's HQ will move from its nearly 50k SF space at 3344 Peachtree—one of that tower's original tenants—to Buckhead Atlanta with double the space. And sources say aside from office, Spanx may locate a flagship store at the project. Jones Lang LaSalle's Brannan Moss and Josh Hirsh brokered the deal for Spanx. CBRE's Amy Fingerhut represented OliverMcMillan.
