THE COLLIERS "SPIKE"
We stopped by the Atlanta office of Colliers International yesterday and spoke with Bob Mathews, Jeff Kelley, and Caldwell Zimmerman. Like other firms in town, Bob says Colliers office leasing is experiencing its "biggest spike in business" in some time. "That seems to be coming back faster than some of the other service lines," Bob says. Recent office deals include Tensar International, which leased 25,700 SF at 2500 Northwinds (Fred Sheats repped that deal). Caldwell says industrial is also holding its own; Colliers just recently help Rock Tenn lease a 100K SF warehouse facility in Kentucky (led by Colliers' Douglas Biggs). Jeff says he's somewhat concerned for the future since much of the leasing taking place is with companies whose expirations aren't until 2011 or later. "We are totally robbing Peter to pay Paul," he says. |
