THE DEAL SHEET
June 26, 2012
This morning, there was nothing small about this tidbit revealed at our Atlanta Future of Transportation event. The world's biggest airplane is coming to Hartsfield-Jackson.
Hartsfield-Jackson's GM Louis Miller told our audience of more than 175 at the W Hotel Midtown that Korean Air is scheduled to start flying the behemoth Airbus A380 daily from Atlanta to Seoul in January. At 262 feet, the A380 seats more than 400. Louis says the airport is having to widen sections of the runway and taxiways, and retrofit a couple of gates to handle the double-decker aircraft. Stay tuned Thursday for complete coverage of our panel.
