| Here's the BeltLine plan. The loop, aka the ?Emerald Necklace,? encircles the urban core. At the northern tip is Lindbergh Center. The sexiest facet of the the project is transit,but it's also the furthest off. While parks and trails are already underway, Heather tells us the goal is have the first segments of the transit loop under construction within seven years. As far as finishing the entire loop? ?There is not a good timeline on that,? she says. The good news, BeltLine boosters say, is Mayor Kasim Reed is a serious supporter and has been lobbying for federal transit dollars. |
