VACATION TAPES 2
June 30, 2011
Not sure what you consider a summer vacation, but IDI's Andria Kriss thought touring Dubai, UAE was a great spot for a little R&R. A single woman. By herself. ?Yes, I'm nuts,? she wrote to us in an email. Here we have Andria in front of the Dubai Fountain. You can see the cranes off in the distance, the remnants from UAE's building boom that has cooled. Andria says she learned that more than 200 CRE transactions ?have been axed or put on hold due to the troubles hitting the country? (and we thought we had it bad). While the oil sector is doing quite well (just ask your thirsty car), Dubai was hit hard by a meltdown in its tourism sector (not enough single women taking trips there), which killed what Andria says was an overbuilding boom. |
Believe it or not, the trip to Dubai was a side one for Andria. Here she rides an elephant with another solo traveler she befriended, Ruth Wenzl from Vienna. The two took a tour together (by elephant, apparently) of India from a resort in Goa. The elephant declined to comment. |
Here we have another alternative to the sun and surf of typical summer vacations. You're seeing the 19-year-old son of Jones Lang LaSalle's Jeff Bellamy on top of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa. Taylor, the UGA sophmore, decided that his summer vacation would be better spent scaling the 19,341-foot peak while Daddy Jeff stayed in Atlanta and got leases signed to pay for his trip. |
