WELLS FARGO RENEWS
November 4, 2010
First came the giant sign and the name change. Now comes the new lease. |
We visited with Carter's Mike Shelly and Sonia Winfield who repped the owners of 171 17th St. (that'd be JP Morgan) in the 180K SF renewal of Wells Fargo. The bank, which just replaced its new corporate logo (the largest it has in the nation) on top of the Atlantic Station tower, renewed and extended its lease through 2020. Jones Lang LaSalle's David Demarest brokered the deal for the bank. |
This is no small potatoes for Wells Fargo. The largest office tenant at Atlantic Station, about 10% of Wells Fargo's metro workforce—500 people—commutes and works at 171 17th Street. And like Wachovia before it, signage is still critical to its Atlanta marketing efforts. The new, lighted moniker atop the building will expose some 500,000 commuters daily to Wells Fargo, says Chuck Alexander with the bank's corporate properties group. |
