WHO'S THAT TAP TAP TAPPING?

| We chatted with Seefried Properties' leasing guru Doug Smith, another of our panelists at our Nov. 11 Industrial Summit. Seefried just leased 60k SF with Tapco at 1325 Chastain Rd, RREEF's Kennesaw Chastain Distribution Center project. King Industrial's Bill Johnston repped the tenant. Doug tells us there certainly is more activity today than in the past two years but mainly with big box tenants. The bread-and-butter deals—small local companies needing 50k SF or less (that you enjoy while you are waiting for your dinner)—have been quiet as the economy continues to storm with uncertainty. Big box tenants though are taking advantage of a still-depressed market. ?I think corporate America is still in the mode of doing deals because they recognize it's a good time to do deals,? Doug says. |
