Winging Into Atlanta
Attention Atlanta wings fans: You've got another option coming. East Coast Wings & Grill is about to make its debut in Buford with its first restaurant. (We're willing to do extensive taste research on your behalf.) And the Winston-Salem, NC-based chain is eyeing another four locations in the metro during its initial rollout, including possibly Alpharetta and Marietta, says East Coast's Daniel Collins. Dan says the company is seeking 4,500 SF end-cap locations with patio seating. So far, no other leases have been signed.
The company is actively pursuing other franchisees for further Atlanta expansion but wants to give the initial franchise owner time to establish in metro Atlanta and the opportunity to expand its development agreement as well. The restaurant targets familes. Even though "wings" is in the name, only about 22% of the menu selection is made up of them; it also has more than 20 beers on tap and a full bar, but alcohol only accounts for 12% of total revenue. "We don't want to be a sports bar; we want to attract the whole family," Dan says.
