ATL’s Top Brokers Talk Real Estate Wish List
From space for the latest entry into the co-working environment to a hope for new office buildings, here's what some of the industry pros asked Santa for this holiday.
Avison Young's Sean Moynihan, along with his wife, Angela, and daughter Addison were on hand for the John Hancock Real Estate broker function at Phipps Plaza with Santa this past Sunday. Sean is in the market with Make Offices (formerly UberOffices), a DC-based co-working office operator that has been looking to enter the Metro Atlanta area for much of the year. Sean says he's still scouting up to four locations at 40k to 50k SF each.
CBRE's Bill Kilborn, here with his wife, Shannon, daughter Kaitlyn and son William Jr., has much to thank Santa for. Especially after he was instrumental in helping the FBI land a new regional HQ off Chamblee-Tucker Road. The FBI will develop a more than 150k SF facility with FD Stonewater. Bill says a construction loan was just secured, with development slated to start next year.
Scotland Wright & Associates namesake Scotland joined the festivities along with his son Land Wright and John Hancock's Shawn Collins. Scotland says “there's no question it's getting hard” to find office space for clients in a tightening Atlanta market. “We just got to get some buildings out of the ground,” he says. Lenders, Scotland says, are easing up somewhat on funding new office developments, mainly because rents are finally beginning to pencil out new development.
And finally, John Hancock's Jessica Doyle and her husband, New York Life's Ryan Doyle, have an announcement: a third addition to their two children—Cannon, 4, and Courson, 16 months—this coming May. A baby girl. Bisnow offers our heartfelt congrats to the couple.
