Dan Granot In, Chris White Out At Savills

Atlanta

Savills has shaken up the leadership of its Atlanta office, parting ways with one of its senior leaders and hiring the co-owner of a local commercial brokerage away from the firm that bears his name.

Chris White confirmed he has left Savills, where he has been for nearly 10 years, most recently as vice chairman after stepping aside in 2023 as Atlanta market leader.

“I have greatly enjoyed my almost 10 years with Savills. We have accomplished so much together,” White told Bisnow in an email. “I am leaving to pursue a new opportunity. I wish all of my Savills colleagues great prosperity, and I am excited about what lies ahead. The best is yet to come.”

White described his departure from the firm as "amicable." A Savills spokesperson declined to comment.

Prior to Savills, White worked at Cassidy Turley, which was acquired by DTZ, which then merged with Cushman & Wakefield in 2015. White left Cushman & Wakefield the same year, taking over as market leader for Savills in Atlanta.

Savills hired Joel & Granot principal Dan Granot as its executive managing director in Atlanta. Granot made the announcement in a post on LinkedIn on Wednesday but has since removed the post. He does list his employer as Savills on the social network.

Granot declined to comment on the move. It is unclear how his departure would affect Joel & Granot, a firm he co-founded in 2010 with veteran CRE broker Alan Joel. Joel declined to comment.

White said Granot's arrival at the firm was unrelated to his resignation.

Granot began his career in 1989 with the storied Atlanta firm Richard Bowers & Co., eventually working for Insignia/ESG, which eventually was bought by CBRE, and GVA Advantis, which was abruptly shut down in 2009 by its parent company. Granot set up his own brokerage shop a year earlier before merging with Joel two years later.

During his career, Granot helped with RaceTrac Petroleum's 85K SF headquarters move to Atlanta, Weissman PC's 50K SF lease at One Alliance Center in Buckhead and Popeyes' parent company's 60K SF headquarters move to Dunwoody in 2011, according to his online bio.
