Digital Realty Plans New 10-Story Atlanta Data Center
The world's second-largest colocation provider is looking to build a new data center in Downtown Atlanta.
Austin-based Digital Realty is looking to develop a 10-story, 300K SF facility with 130K SF of data center white space, according to an application with the Atlanta Zoning Review Board. The 1.2-acre undeveloped site is at 10 Forsyth St., next door to Digital Realty's 56 Marietta St. data center tower.
The ZRB is a nine-member body appointed by the mayor and city council that considers proposed rezonings and special-use permits. The hearing for Digital Realty's proposal is scheduled for Aug. 8, according to the permit.
Aside from 56 Marietta, Digital Realty operates two other colocation data centers in Metro Atlanta: an 18K SF colocation facility at 250 Williams St. and a 313K SF data center at 101 Aquila Way in Austell.
“Demand for Digital Realty's market-leading colocation and interconnection solutions in Atlanta remains robust,” Digital Realty spokesperson Helen Bleasdale told Bisnow via email. “Digital Realty remains committed to expanding its global platform to meet its customers' growing needs.”
