The museum has filed a permit to construct a nearly 24K SF facility at 1260 Foster St. in West Midtown. The two-story project would include art galleries, a workshop, a sculpture garden, an administrative space, a conference room and a rooftop terrace, according to the application.

The location, off 14th Street, is part of the Goat Farm Arts Center, an artists campus in what was a munitions factory and a set piece to the AMC show The Walking Dead, Atlanta Magazine reported.

The project will cost an estimated $9.5M, according to the application. The Museum raised $15.3M of the capital campaign's $16.4M goal, including $2M from Mayor Andre Dickens, according to its website.

"The new building will serve as a beacon for artists, students, educators, young people, senior citizens, and all residents who seek to amplify their voices through their creative practices," the museum said on its site. "In this era, we will stand alongside the premier cities of the world that showcase their artists’ best work in breathtaking facilities, urging us to reimagine what is achievable in architecture and design."

The staff of the museum didn't respond to Bisnow's request for comment.

The Georgia Tech Foundation has tapped Atlanta developer Parkside Partners and architectural firm Warner Summers to redevelop 70 Fourth St., a single-story, 3K SF office building in Tech Square, into a Georgia Tech Police security hub, according to an application filed with the city of Atlanta.

The project would expand the facility up to 50K SF, according to the application.
