Blanchard Starting Dawsonville Power Center This Year
An Atlanta-area developer is looking to revive plans for a power center in Dawsonville. We spoke with Blanchard Real Estate Capital's Matt Blanchard who is in negotiations with the US Corps of Engineers over some streams on his site. If all goes well, Matt tells us he hopes to begin development of a 450k SF power center off GA Hwy 400 that was previously eyed by The Sembler Co and Pope & Land.
“We got a big anchor and I guess about eight or nine juniors either on LOIs or about to be LOIs,” Matt says, declining to ID the potential retailers. Blanchard picked up the property from Synovous Bank last year. Matt says the area is “an untapped corridor” for many power center tenants given the nearest shopping is the North Georgia Premium Outlets. (Things look so much different from the sky, you never notice all the giant signs painted on the ground.)
