Carter, Selig Picked By Sandy Springs
Two of Atlanta's old-school developers have been tapped by one of Atlanta's newest locales. The City of Sandy Springs named Carter and Selig Enterprises as master developers for Phase 1 of Sandy Springs City Center, slated to begin in 2017. (Seems far away... but don't procrastinate, or else you'll spend all of 2016 cramming.) City officials cite the companies' long-standing tenure in Atlanta and experience with massive projects—specifically, Carter's Cincinnati riverfront stadium mixed-use development.
Sandy Springs is aiming to transform the Roswell Road corridor from Abernathy Road to I-285 into a walkable environment with mixed-use projects bordering it. The city will hash out a more specific vision of the project in the next 90 days, officials say.
