Atlanta Mixed-Use

Carter has been named the master developer for the City of Sandy Springs' new city center redevelopment, along with Selig enterprises, so we spoke with Carter's Malloy Peterson (here with Selig Enterprises' s Scott Selig, Carter's Jerome Hagley and Selig's Jo Ann Chitty). The city is looking for a civic-focused project with lots of greenspace, she says, but the parties are still hashing out details: "They really want a signature development, a crown jewel for Sandy Springs. They will be working towards "a consensus master plan over the next three months.”

We mentioned yesterday that Sandy Springs is aiming to transform the Roswell Road corridor from Abernathy Road to I-285 into a walkable environment with mixed-use projects bordering it. Carter will focus on the development of the overall project, including multifamily, while Selig will laser in on retail. (And we'll probably print this and have our 2-year-old work on the un-colored parts.)
