Toro: Avalon Activity a 'Surprise'
We asked North American Properties' Mark Toro, fresh from his grand opening of the Avalon project, about activity at that mixed-use site. During the first few days of opening, he tells us, marketers conducted 1,500 tours of the single-family sites and an equal number of tours of the apartments. “We wrote a number of contracts. We are kind of taken by surprise … pleasantly surprised that they weren't just coming to look,” Mark says. Beyond the initial round of retailers, NAP also just announced Johnny Was Clothing, Latta Frutta and Container Store among the retailers headed there.
