Which Three Companies Just Proposed New Midtown Apartment Towers?
Midtown could be home to three more apartment towers in the coming months. We got a glimpse of plans by Mill Creek Residential, Alliance Residential, and Trammell Crow Residential to add over 700 multifamily units combined. (Local restaurants should get a head start on printing new delivery menus.)
The info was gleaned during yesterday's Midtown Alliance Development Review Committee, which reviews developer plans for the City of Atlanta. And the biggest proposed project—Mill Creek's 8th and Williams St, which at 350 units and 12k SF of retail will tower 29 stories next to Centergy One—could be the firm's second Atlanta project behind Modera Morningside (above). That mixed-use project has Sprout's locating there as well. It's unclear who will develop the retail portion of Mill Creek's new project.
Trammell Crow's Leonard Wood Jr. (here in 2011 with Redbrick Development’s Tim Mulcahy during the groundbreaking of a Virginia project) tells us the firm is still modifying designs on its proposed 22-story mixed-use project at 8th and West Peachtree streets, where it aims for 356 units and 10k SF of retail.
Alliance Residential plans for a smaller eight-story project that will encompass 218 units on the southeast corner of Juniper and 6th streets, next to The Dakota condo. Related Group also updated info on its 22 Fourteenth St project, which it says will encompass 6,500 SF of retail and 400 units of apartments next to One Atlantic Center and Regions Plaza.
