A small playground in Westside Atlanta could soon become a gateway to the Atlanta BeltLine.

The Atlanta BeltLine Inc. has tapped Peachtree Corners-based Pond & Co. to design the expansion of Enota Park from its barely half-acre size to about 8 acres, bounded by Interstate 20, Lucile Avenue, Enota Place and the Westside Trail, Curbed Atlanta reports.

Enota Park was one of the 13 spots targeted by BeltLine planners for a string of green spaces encircling the planned 33-mile, multi-use trail. Last summer, the U.S. Department of the Interior awarded a $600K grant focused on expanding recreation areas in underserved communities to help expand the small park, according to Curbed.

The project, in a joint venture between the BeltLine organization and Atlanta, will include a multipurpose playing field, a basketball court, a restored creek bed and a community garden. No date has been set for its completion.
