Bisnow Scoop: Equifax Consolidating Further Into Midtown?
One of the largest credit reporting agencies in the country could be adding hundreds of jobs into Midtown. Bisnow sources gave us some of the details.
Sources tell us Equifax is in talks with Hines Interests to lease some 100k SF at One Atlantic Center, the iconic 1.1M SF tower on West Peachtree Street (here). The deal could mean Equifax moves its offices from NorthPark Town Center off Abernathy Road in Sandy Springs and closer to its current HQ in Midtown at 1550 Peachtree St.
Equifax inked a 68k SF lease at the 516k SF Northpark 500 Building in 2006 for 10 years. At the time, the company planned to house some 350 employees. It's unclear whether any portion of Equifax's Alpharetta operations at 1505 Windward Concourse are part of this potential relocation into Midtown. Officials with Hines, Equifax and Colliers International—which reps the credit reporting bureau—did not return calls seeking comment.
If the deal does come through, Equifax would be the latest in a host of big-name companies that have either uprooted suburban locations or expanded in addition to their suburban locations for Midtown, including NCR, Worldpay, Sage Software and Kaiser Permanente, which made headlines by adding 900 jobs to the submarket with an IT campus at Pershing Point Plaza.
